It’s been said, “You can’t steer a parked car.” How would you ever get anywhere if your car is not running, let alone steer it?
If you have a big dream that God has placed in your heart are you pursuing it? Are you in motion, or are you sitting idle? Maybe you’re waiting for God to do something.
Some people would say that God can do anything. I disagree. God cannot do just anything. He has a nature and he will not act in a manner that is inconsistent with His nature. For example, God cannot lie. It’s against His nature to lie. It’s also against His nature to make you do something that you refuse to do. Like, accept His Son who died on the cross to save you from your sins. Jesus only saves you according to your belief and confession in Him (Romans 10:9,10). It’s your responsibility to ensure your salvation just like it is your responsibility to accomplish your dreams.
It is your responsibility to accomplish your dreams, but remember what Jesus said in John 15:5, “Without Me, you can do nothing.” Obviously, we need the Holy Spirit’s help in everything we set out to do. In our own strength, it’s fleshly, weak, frustrating, and it will surely fail. “Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it” (Psalm 127:1) We simply must be in agreement with God by aligning our will up with His.
If you know what you are supposed to do, do it. The Holy Spirit releases His power the moment you take a step of faith. Just like a parked car cannot be steered, God cannot steer you, unless you are moving.
God waits for you to act first. Just like when Joshua faced an impassible obstacle, the flooded waters of the Jordan River receded only after the leaders stepped into the rushing current in faith (Joshua 3:13-17).
Step out in faith and go after those things that God has called you to do. Time is wasting. If you are not sure what you are supposed to be doing, find out now by asking the Holy Spirit. He will reveal His desire for you if you will seek Him.
1 Corinthians 2:9-10 says, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, the things which God has prepared for those who love Him. But God has revealed them unto us by His Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things, the deep things of God.” And then verse 16 says, “Who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him? But we have the mind of Christ.”
